Dear Players,
We have prepared a new feature for beginning players that will make it easier for them to obtain initial T9 and T10 equipment.
The following instances now feature dynamic HP scaling of creatures based on the number of players and the strength of their gear:
Supported Instances:
| Instance | Tier | Minimum HP |
|---|---|---|
| Sunken Temple (map 109) | T9 | 10% |
| Blackrock Depths (map 230) | T9 | 15% |
| Zul’Gurub (map 309) | T9 / T10 | 15% |
| Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj (map 509) | T9 | 15% |
| Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (map 531) | T9 | 20% |
| The Eye (map 550) | T10 | 25% |
| Zul’Aman (map 568) | T10 | 20% |
How It Works:
- Number of Players: The fewer players in the instance, the lower the creature HP. A solo player or small group (1-3) gets significantly reduced HP.
- Gear Strength: The system automatically evaluates the average item level (iLvl) of the entire group. If you have weaker gear, creature HP is further reduced. Conversely, if a player with strong gear joins, HP is recalculated upward.
- Dynamic Recalculation: HP is recalculated at the start of each combat. If another player joins you in the instance, HP is automatically adjusted.
- Evade Reset: If a creature loses its target and returns to its position, HP is restored to the original value and recalculated again in the next combat.
Example:
-
Example:
- 1 player, weak gear (iLvl below 120) → creature has approx. 15% HP
- 2 players, medium gear (iLvl 150) → creature has 25% HP
- 2 players, strong gear (iLvl 200+) → creature has 37% HP
- 7+ players, weak gear → creature has 60% HP
- 7+ players, strong gear → creature has 150% HP (harder than normal!)
- 7+ players, medium gear → creature has 100% HP (no change)
The system is currently active and in experimental mode, where we will evaluate the status from logs and potentially adjust the values. Your feedback is welcome!
